The Residential Sectional door class is designed to increase productivity, speed and proficiency for residential door technicians. Upon class completion, new door technicians will also be equipped with the essential product knowledge and installation techniques to begin field installations. Repetition and best practices will be emphasized.
Training is divided between classroom and the Tech Center.
Day 1: Focuses on product knowledge including an analysis of C.H.I. Residential Door product models. Students will also review the Anatomy of Residential Sectional door including: sections, insulation, track, mounting options, hardware, counterbalance system and windows. The balance of the day will include installation of a normal headroom door including best handling, safety and installation practices. Proper techniques for a clean installation will be emphasized.
Day 2: Students will install an opener on a normal headroom door and complete a new installation of a low-headroom door.
Day 3: Focuses on special installation situations including high-lift and roof pitch followed by installation of a wind loaded door. The day concludes with an examination of common door and opener service call situations.
Day 4: Class concludes with a final review, plant tour and a written and installation test.
